  • You don’t know which plugins will work with the new version.
  • Shopware 6.8, the next major version, is on its way – the older your version, the bigger the jump.

FAQ about Shopware 6.7 and 6.8 updates

Why do plugins break in a major update such as 6.7?

Every major version removes outdated code that some plugins and themes still rely on. That is why we check every plugin on a copy of your shop before the live update.

Is the shop offline during the update?

Only for the short live update. We test everything else beforehand on a copy.

What if a plugin isn’t available for the new version?

We find a replacement or build the feature as a [custom plugin](/shopware-agency/plugin-development).

We are still on Shopware 5.

Then you need a [Shopware 5 to 6 migration](/modernization/shopware-migration), not an update.
